All Grades, Kinder thru 5th grade, students have the opportunity 2-3 times a week to go learn science with full-time science teacher Mrs. Akiko Arevalo in her dedicated upper grades and lower grades science labs, where students are taught a balanced science curriculum focusing on Life Science, Physical Science and Physical Science. Mrs. Arevalo teaches students to develop hypotheses, test hypothesis through observation and investigation, and then form conclusions based upon their work. STREAM hands-on experiences are combined with Full Option Science Series kits as the primary tool for science instruction. Mrs. Arevalo’s science program not only provides a meaningful science education that teaches students analytical skills critical to successful problem-solving in the 21st century, it also imparts a love of science and learning that stays with the students long after they graduate Marquez.
