Marquez is the only school in the Palisades to offer half class reduction through FOM funded and supported “enrichment” programs indicated with an asterisk(*) below. This distinctive half-group model further reduces the already small class sizes by sending half of a class to an “enrichment” activity, while the other half of the class remains with the classroom teacher for individualized instruction on language arts, math and/or social studies. Such half class reduction is provided 4-5 times a week in each grade. In Grades K-2, this results in student to teacher/instructional aide ratios as low as 5:1, thus providing unique and exceptional opportunities for differentiated teaching and focused learning to better meet each student’s individual learning needs.
